community and charity
Here are some examples of our recent activities in the community.
MK community Foundation
In 2015, Wealth and Tax Management commenced a programme to donate £50,000 to the Milton Keynes Community Foundation. The foundation provides grants to not-for-profit charities, voluntary groups and community initiatives.
The donation is being made in annual payments of £10,000 and the money will be managed as The Tony Byrne Financial Education Fund. Good causes will receive 50% of the money, with the other half placed into an endowment where it will be invested indefinitely.
Income from the endowment will be given to charities and self-help groups each year with the proviso that the money must be spent on financial education for people in Milton Keynes of all ages, with the aim of making them financially self-sufficient.
We recently supported Russell Snowden of Independent Banking Consultants by donating a sum of money to Willen Hospice. Russell undertook a six-day trek through the Borneo jungle to raise money for the hospice. To say thank you, we were featured on the Independent Banking Consultants website. Tony Byrne and Cholpon Djanuzakova are both mentors at Coventry University, visiting regularly to share their knowledge with students and members of the investment society. Wealth and Tax are also sponsoring a number of prizes for finance students studying at the University. We also offer students work experience at our office to gain a better understanding of the work we do.
