As it is Oscar month we thought we would go back to last year’s awards and pick out one of the winners.

Still Alice is based on Lisa Genova’s bestselling novel of the same name and provides a brilliant performance from Julianne Moore that earned the ‘best actress award’ at last year’s Oscars.

Julianne Moore plays Alice who at the age of just 50 gets diagnosed with early onset familial Alzheimer’s disease. At the time of her diagnosis, Alice was a brilliant linguistics professor, with a large loving family that were growing up and getting married. However, over the course of the film she starts to deteriorate, becoming forgetful – at one point getting lost whilst out jogging.

We are not going to lie, the film does have some sad moments, but the Director is careful to deliver the scenes in a very informative way. With brilliant performances this film is a must see.
