How to make your New Year Resolutions work for you!
A Happy New Year to all of my regular readers!
Unashamedly I decided to repeat the following list based on the Nielsen research from the blog I wrote exactly a year ago.
TOP 10 NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS:

I very much doubt if much of the above has changed materially from last year. For those of you who recall reading last year’s blog just 8% of people successfully carry out and fulfil their New Year Resolutions.
Although I am one of the 16% of people who do not make New Year Resolutions, I am proud to say that my body weight has reduced by 2.5 stones and my percentage body fat to 17%. I exercise aerobically for half an hour every morning before work religiously. These are of course the top 2 New Year Resolutions. You can do it too!
I credit my weight loss to my dear old mum who to this day I respect more than any other woman on the planet. She is of course in my eyes the best mum in the world. She had been admonishing me for years about my 2 stones weight gain, which had been as a result of an ankle running injury which meant I hardly exercised for 2 years. My weight gain was inevitable.
What reversed it was a week-long holiday in Tighmoor Trossachs in Scotland with my mum and 2 of my children back in May last year. My 81 year old mum treated me, her 59 year old son, like a 9 year old all week! Whenever we went to a coffee shop, she refused to allow me to eat any pastries even though I was paying. After the holiday ended I discovered I had lost 2-3 pounds which was encouraging. I then decided to stop snacking between meals. I began eating healthier, organic, smaller meals and reduced my consumption of dairy, bread and processed food generally. Hey presto I lost 2.5 stones in weight!
There is a well known 30 days rule to change a habit. Basically, if you do the same thing for 30 days then your habit change becomes permanent. This certainly worked for my weight loss and exercise regime. How can it work for you with your personal finances?
